Plant bundles delivered to your door!

April 10, 2020

We are pleased to announce that we have started up an online, no contact delivery service from Combe Garden Centre.

You will need to follow the link below to place you order, there are 3 different plant bundles (vegetable and herb mix, bedding mix and perennial mix) in 2 sizes with the option to add a few extra items.

We can only delivery within 10 miles of the centre so please check this before you order and we can only add the extras on listed on the booking site to your orders.

This is a new system for us so please bear with us while we get this project off the ground. We are hopefully that this will be a great success and we can add more lines in the future.

Combe Estate – Covid-19 Update

March 25, 2020

Combe Estate are taking every precaution to minimise the risk of infection from COVID-19 for the health and safety of our staff and customers.

The Estate Office currently remains open albeit with only one member of staff on site whilst the remainder are working from home.  We would request that customers do not visit the office during this time.  You may still contact the office with any queries or orders either on 01404 45576 or via email to info@combeestate.com and we will endeavour to deal with these as soon as we are able to.

Tenants

If you have any emergencies or require urgent repairs during this period please contact the office as usual on 01404 45576 or email us at info@combeestate.com.  Once again we will endeavour to deal with your requests as quickly as possible but inevitably there will be some delays due to tradesmen not being available due to working restrictions.

Logs

We are still at this time endeavouring to carry out log deliveries but would request when ordering that the following is adhered to:-

  1. If you suspect you may have, or have come into contact with someone who has COVID-19 and you have requested a log delivery then please ring the office on 01404 45576 to discuss where the logs may be left so that no contact is made between yourselves and our delivery team.
  2. Your invoice can either be left with your delivery or can be emailed to you, again please specify when you call.
  3. We will not be taking cash payments from customers during this time to reduce the risk of infection.
  4. Bacs payment would be our desired method of payment and details of how you can pay can be found on your invoice. We will still accept cheques but ask that these be posted to the office rather than handed to the delivery team.

As the spread of Covid-19 continues we wanted to reassure you that the well-being of our staff, customers and suppliers will be at the forefront of everything we do and will endeavour to maintain as normal a service as possible at this very difficult time. We intend to follow government advice as it emerges and adopt whatever measures given.

Wishing you all good health.

Kind regards.

The Garden Centre Restaurant is open!

August 8, 2019

It’s been almost eight weeks since our new restaurant, The Kitchen at Combe Garden Centre has opened it doors and what a busy eight weeks it’s been! Our entire team along with local contractors worked really hard to ensure we opened the doors on time and we are really proud of what we have achieved.

The Kitchen is being run by a local lady, Kimberley Astley-Jones and it is a real family affair with three of her children working in various roles in the restaurant.

The well appointed restaurant has ample comfortable seating with an outdoor dining area where well behaved dogs are most welcome.

Breakfasts will be served daily from opening until 11.30am and lunches will be served from midday until 3pm and tea, coffee and a wonderful range of homemade cakes are available all day. The menu features lots of favourites and uses as much local produce as possible, all the food is freshly prepared and cooked to order. There is a daily specials board, where the fantastic chef, Henry, is showcasing his talents!

Feedback so far has been great and we’d like to thank everyone who has visited The Kitchen!

The opening hours for The Kitchen are:

Monday to Saturday 9am to 4.30pm

Sunday 10am to 3.30pm

The Trudi Triple

June 26, 2019

Massive congratulations to Trudi who completed ‘The Three Peaks’ challenge this past week, its an enormous achievement and we couldn’t be prouder of her!

Here is what the team had to say…

“So that’s it. The Trudi Triple 2019 has ended. The team made it down at 1910hrs some 26 hours and 16 minutes after setting off. The actual rules on The Three Peaks website state that you are allowed to deduct time for congestion and road issues. In Dumbarton last night the main road was closed which added 30 minutes to our journey and today there were severe hold ups on the North Wales Express road meaning our driving time was extended overall by 1 hour and 30 minutes. So aggregate total for the venture is 24 hours 46 minutes. Top achievement all round and that deserves a Bravo Zulu for those who know what we mean! There are a lot of people to thank but that will come later.”

Also its not too late to donate…

The Trudi Triple – 3 Peaks Challenge

The Trudi Triple – 3 Peaks Challenge

June 11, 2019

In 2017 our Estate administrator Trudi Craig was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. She was 45 at the time. This news came as a blow as just as her children were leaving home and she was looking forward to getting time to herself this diagnosis sent probably the biggest challenge of her life. Now having stabilised on a drug known as Tysabri she wanted to prove to herself and others that having MS wasn’t the end. So far from it in fact that she began searching for physical challenges to test herself. After deciding upon the first challenge she thought what better way to raise the profile of MS than by setting up her own charity in order to raise money. Who knows what the future holds for Trudi but as long as she has the ability she will strive to keep healthy and active by seeking out physical challenges and encouraging others to rise to their own challenges.

So the first challenge is to walk The 3 Peaks in 24 hours in June 2019. Consisting of climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in that order the 3 peaks is hard enough for an able bodied person so for someone with wobbly legs and extreme bouts of fatigue this will be an immense challenge for Trudi. Supported by her husband and a few friends the team has been selected and training has begun. Follow Trudi’s preparation, training and progress on her FB page.

We are very proud to support Trudi and wish her the best of luck with The Triple Trudi!

Plans have been submitted….

February 14, 2019

We are pleased to share with you that we have submitted plans to EDDC to convert an area of the Garden Centre into a restaurant.

Our aim is to create a really good space where after you have had a wander through the Garden Centre, you can enjoy a cup of coffee or a bit to eat in a peaceful green oasis. We will be using local suppliers to keep the food fresh and the food miles low. The restaurant will complement what we already offer and enhance our customers experience.

We have only been open for a few months but the feedback we have received from an overwhelming number of visitors has been really positive which we are delighted with. We are very excited for this next phase of the Garden Centre.
