New Management at Combe House Hotel

Come Estate are proud to announce that a long lease of Combe House will be granted to The Limewood Group who intend to open another one of their famous Pig Hotels at the premises in summer 2016.

Subject to planning approvals it is intended to increase the number of bedrooms to 33 through converting the existing Victorian stable block and the loft of the main house into stunning guest accommodation.  The entire premises will be “Piggified” including Curlditch House and the attached cottage as Limewood look to roll out their extremely successful Pig brand deeper into the Westcountry.

Combe House is the jewel in the crown of Combe Estate and as such the estate is naturally keen to ensure that the next incarnation of this wonderful building is in keeping with the high quality operation which has been run by current tenants Ken and Ruth Hunt since 1998.

Justin Lascelles, Estate Manager for Combe Estate said “We are delighted to confirm that the nest tenants of Combe House will be the Limewood Group.  We were very impressed with what we saw when we went to visit the Pig Near Bath and had nothing but excellent feedback when we made enquiries into the group.  We are very keen to partner with the best in class in any ventures that we undertake and in the Limewood Group and their Pig brand we feel we have done so in this case.”

“We feel that the Pig are an excellent fit with the Combe Estate and our core values.  Their track record of using locally sourced food and partnering with artisan producers will provide opportunities for nearby businesses and deliver high quality fare for their customers.”

Ken and Reith Hunt will continue to operate the hotel until the planned changeover in October 2015 whereupon they intend to retire to Australia to enjoy some much deserved time with their children.
